Michelle Jones-Haskell

Premiere Dance Studio OwnerMichelle is the artistic director and proud owner of Premiere Dance Center. Premiere was opened in 2003 with nothing but a vision and a prayer to make a difference. Premiere is now celebrating its 12th year of operation. Her journey started as a young girl studying dance at Victoria’s Dance and Gymnastics in Muncie. She credits her training to Victoria Sayre and is honored to say that she spent many seasons celebrating dance under her wings. Her passion was solidified in a workshop with the late great Henry LeTang who recognized her talent and skill. The rest is history. Michelle was the recipient of countless awards during her competition days and now gets to share in those same moments with her wonderful students. She has received numerous choreography awards and recognition at the regional and national level. She is a two-time recipient of the Rising Star Award and the Al Gilbert Tap Excellence Award. Her students were invited to perform in London at venues surrounding the 2012 Olympics in association with American Alliance of Performing Arts Educators. Premiere was also invited to perform with the National Tour of the Wizard of Oz in which twelve students made their debut as munchkins. She has numerous students who continue to pursue dance at the collegiate level at BSU, Purdue, IU, and BYU to name a few. Michelle is a graduate of Muncie Central H.S. and an honors graduate of BSU. She looks forward to sharing her love for the arts with the community and abroad for many more years!


 Lindsey Alexander

Lindsey started dancing as a young girl and spent 9 years at Premiere on the PDC Dance Company. She is so excited to continue being a part of the Premiere family by teaching! Her dance experience includes tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and musical theatre. She was privileged to be chosen to travel with Premiere to London, England during the 2012 Olympics to perform! She is studying Speech Pathology at Ball State University.

 


Libby Harris

Libby began her training in Indianapolis with Linda Rees at the Dance Magic Performing Arts Studio. She attended Interlochen Arts Academy on a dance scholarship for four years. While studying dance at Butler University, she was asked to join Dance Kaleidoscope for the 1997 production of Carmina Burana. Libby recently retired from dancing professionally, but is now the rehearsal and educational director for DK. It is her 10th season to be teaching at Premiere!

 


Maranda Mastin

Maranda is a Muncie native and grew up dancing at PDC. She received a Bachelor of Science in dance from BSU. While at Ball State, Maranda was a part of Ball State Dance Theater and had the opportunity to travel to Jacob’s Pillow, New York, Michigan, and New Orleans to dance. Maranda is also a certified Pilates instructor. Maranda commutes from Chicago to teach at PDC every week — we are honored!

 


Jill Pape

Jill grew up in Ohio and spent her youth training at Buckeye Gymnastics. Jill was a competitive gymnast for many years and was a member of several state championship teams. Jill also received training from Straub Dance Studio. She stud-ied tap, jazz, ballet and pointe. Jill spent four years teach-ing gymnastics and tumbling at Victoria’s Dance and Gym-nastics while she attended Ball State studying Elementary Education. Jill taught tumbling at Generations Dance Studio while she lived in Ohio and taught preschool gymnastics at Anderson Gymnastics. She is married to Rob and has five children: Courtney, Andy, Kayla, Sammy, and Lily.

 


Lauren Pearson

Lauren started her dance career in her youth and found her dance home at Premiere Dance Center. She was a member of the PDC Dance Company for many years and studied tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, and modern. She is thrilled to be sharing her passion for dance with the PDC students. Lauren is married to Travis and they have a sweet little boy named Deegan.

 


Jama Smith

Jama began her training under theinstruction of Gay Kroening and in later years with Michelle. Jama has directed her studies in the area of ballet and has a great passion for spreading her love of the arts! Jama has continued her training by attending the summer intensive at Ballet Magnificat, the world’s premier Christian ballet company. Jama also leads the Immanuel Praise program at Premiere. Jama has been a PDC teacher all 13 years!

 


Emily Tinkle

Emily started dancing at the age of three for Gay Kroening. Emily’s repertoire includes tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, modern, and pointe. Emily was one of the original members of the PDC Dance Company and one of Michelle’s first students 15 years ago. Emily is a graduate of BSU and is now teaching kindergarten at Royerton Elementary!

 


Sarah Tinkle

Sarah started dancing at the age of 2 and was one of PDC’s original students. She was a member of the PDC Dance Company for many seasons studying all genres. Sarah traveled to London in 2012 for the PDC Olympic tour and also visited NYC twice to study and take master classes. Sarah is a student at BSU pursuing dance and dietetics. She is a member of the BSU Code Red Dance Team, 3rd season! She loves being able to continue her dancing through teaching at Premiere.

 


Amy Wilkins

Amy spent her youth training at Anderson Young Ballet Theatre in Anderson, IN. She studied tap, jazz, ballet, modern, and pointe. Amy also received training from Crandall’s in gymnastics and tumbling. Amy was a competitive gymnast for many years and won the honor of state champion on the floor exercise. Amy spent nine years teaching at Anderson Gymnastics and Cheer, as well as serving as the cheerleading director. Amy now serves as the coach for the BSU Code Red Dance Team. Amy is a graduate of Anderson University with a degree in Elementary Education. She is married to Jay and has three children… Hallie, Quinn, and Klein.


Lily Corcoran

LilyCorcoranLily started dancing at the age of 3 and has never stopped moving her feet. She loves all styles, but she has a deep love for tap. She has won numerous awards as a soloist and traveled to NYC to perform with a select group of tappers from across the US many years ago. Lily is a student at BSU and is also pursuing her paramedic license. She is excited to teach and share her love for dance with others.

 


Hannah Fluhler

HannahFluhlerAfter 8 years as a PDC student, Hannah Fluhler is in her first year as an instructor at PDC. During her years in company, Hannah performed ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, musical theatre, tap, and was in the Soul to Sole pre-professional tap group. Hannah had the opportunity to travel several times with PDC — to London, England, in 2012, to perform at venues surrounding the Summer Olympics; and to New York City in 2014 to take master classes. Now a Freshman at Ball State University Honors College, Hannah is studying pre-nursing with a dance minor.


Kara Jackson

KaraJacksonKara fell in love with dance the first time she put on tap shoes! She loves being able to share her passion with every student she comes across! Her love of dance is what encouraged her to get her degree from Ball State University in music education! She now has a wonderful group of students that she gets the opportunity to dance and sing with every day! Kara has also been blessed with a very supportive husband and two beautiful children! They thoroughly enjoy being a part of the Premiere family.

 


Office Staff

Daphne Tinkle

Daphne has been on staff since the studio opened 12 years ago, assisting Michelle and the Premiere families at the front desk. Her daughters, Emily and Sarah danced for Michelle for many seasons and are now both instructors at PDC. Her daughter, Claire, is on Senior Company. Daphne and her husband Chris also have one son, Austin. A Registered Nurse by profession, Daphne loves spending time at the studio with her girls and the other dancers.
