FAQ

Q?What do you offer for preschoolers?
A.

We offer an hour length class, which includes a half-hour of tap and ballet. Physical activity stimulates self-discovery and a child’s early years are largely devoted to exploring and acquiring fundamental motor patterns and manipulative skills. Dance provides for a lively and interesting setting full of fun and challenge. Our preschool classes incorporate creative movement, ballet, balance, body awareness, dance vocabulary, rhythm, and music to create a class environment that will keep the dancer excited for class each week.

Q?What is your dress code?
A.

Students need to come to class prepared to dance. Hair needs to be off of the neck in a ponytail or bun. We prefer black leotards, pink tights, comfortable tanks, ballet skirts, and dance pants. For students age 3-4, they enjoy wearing all pink! Please do not wear school clothes to dance class as it prevents you from being able to move with freedom.

Q?When, where and how do I pay for class?
A.

Payment is due by the tenth of the month. After the tenth, a late fee is automatically added to your account. You can pay by cash, credit card, or check. You can submit your payment at the front desk to our receptionist or simply drop it in the tuition drop off box in the studio lobby. If you drop off payment after hours, please slip it through our mail slot near the front entrance doors.

Q?What is your policy for inclement weather?
A.

We generally follow the Muncie Community School System. However, weather conditions can change from morning to afternoon. Closings will be posted on WTHR (Channel 13). I will also send an e-mail to notify everyone as well. We do not offer refunds for missed classes, however students can attend a comparable makeup class to accommodate an absence.

Q?Do you offer a Dance Company?
A.

Premiere does offer a Dance Company for students in a variety of disciplines. The PDC Dance Company provides an avenue for students to grow technically and artistically through accelerated classes and a variety of performance opportunities offered during the season. We are proud of our many accomplishments, but more so in striving for excellence in all we do.

Q?I am not sure if my child will like dance. Any suggestions?
A.

We offer a free trial lesson to new customers. It is a great opportunity for you to see our studio, view the classes, and observe our instructors. I feel it is important to experience the atmosphere of a dance studio prior to making a decision on where to send your son/daughter. We extend an open invitation for you to stop by and observe at any time.

Q?What class do you recommend for a beginning student?
A.

Ballet is the basis for all other forms of dance. Therefore, I recommend that students start with ballet and then expand their horizons and add other options.

Q?What performance opportunities do you have for students?
A.

All PDC students are invited to participate in our annual recital in June at Emens Auditorium on the campus of Ball State University. Students are not required to participate, but most enjoy the opportunity to showcase all they have learned for their family and friends. We have also participated in a variety of community events including the Simon Day of Giving and the Luminaria Event at Minnetrista Cultural Center.

Q?Can I observe my child’s class?
A.

Yes, all 3 of our dance rooms have observation windows for you to view your child during class.

Q?What is considered your season?
A.

Dance classes run from late August until the end of June. We host a one-week summer dance camp in July as well.
